Lifestyle is the mod of living of various people or groups of people. The atmosphere and the characteristics of our environment determine our lifestyle. People belonging to different religions or cultures have distinct lifestyles. It is a major factor that lays its impact on the health of a person. The question is what is a healthy lifestyle.


What is a healthy lifestyle?

The phrase “healthy lifestyle” does mean that what you should do if you want to live an energetic, agile, and nimble sort of life. The small changes in our habits can result in bigger and better outcomes in our lives. according to the report of WHO, almost 60% of the quality of our health is always based on the way we spend our life. A healthy lifestyle guarantees a healthy life. 


Things that influence our lifestyle

There are so many things that influence our lives gravely. In today's’ life we are surrounded by new technologies such as the internet and virtual communication networks. All the time we counter the rays emerging from gadgets and other electrical tools. All these things leave a bad impact on our health. Besides, there are so many other factors that leave bad effects on our lives such as malnutrition, unhealthy diet plan, drug abuse, smoking, drinking, alcohol consumption, and poor stress management, etc.


Benefits of a healthy lifestyle

We are granted only one life. And it is said that health is wealth. We should improve our lifestyles to spend a more refined life and prevent diseases. There are so many steps that we may take to ameliorate our lives. We can feel the essence of life in the true sense only if we are healthy both physically as well as mentally.

Tips to improve our lifestyle

Proper diet

diet is the major factor of lifestyle. Health is directly proportional to the diet plan we follow. Mostly in urban areas, people use to eat unhealthy foods such as fast food and junk food, etc. proper diet involving fruits, vegetables, milk, fresh juices, fish, eggs, and meat rich in proteins must be consumed so that we may avoid obesity and other health issues.

the activity must be added to our daily routine. Proper exercise is far better but if one can’t do proper exercise, he should at least enhance the level of movement. Movement enhances the metabolism in our body which results in increased heart rate and fast breathing which helps in inhaling the fresh air in our lungs. Apart from that our locomotion keeps our joints and muscles fit. The center for disease control and prevention has reported that decreasing only 5% to 10% of body weight can control blood pressure, cholesterol and prevent other cardiovascular diseases.



Avoid screen

We should schedule the time when to use the screen. At least once a week we should turn off the screen and should do a little bit more physical. Meet with friends, have a long walk, sit beside your parents, and have healthy discussions.

Prevent medication abuse

Medication abuse must be adopted. So many people show huge negligence in using drugs and medicines. According to a study, 15% to 40% of people in Iran use the medication without any prescription. They are the true supporter of self-treatment. And it a very unhealthy attitude.


Sleep

Proper and timely sleep is of great significance to human life. Poor sleep may result in so many psychological disorders. Our lifestyle may affect our sleep and sleep is the key factor in our health. 

Recreation

Recreation also guarantees a healthy lifestyle. Leisure is very much important for us. When we spend some time in any park or under the shade of any tree and get ourselves free from tensions and issues of daily life it fills our soul with solace and peace

Study

Reading good books is a very healthy activity. The beneficial content in these books provides food for thought. Moreover, by studying for some time daily, our learning capacity enhances. This type of lifestyle prevents the readers from so many mental disorders such as memory loss and dementia etc.

Long or short, this is possible only with a healthy lifestyle that we may enjoy this blessing of life that has been bestowed upon us by almighty for only once. We should keep on struggling for a better life and should improve our lifestyle as well. Keep going! The gradual and small changes bring huge outcomes.
